What can you hold on to when everything around you is changing?

A Desert in Bloom

Two unlikely friends wander the west in an old Ford station wagon. One is fighting time and the other addiction. Set against the relentless destruction of the natural world, it’s a landscape filled with con artists, movie stars, car chases and big cats – a braided history told across five generations of poverty, prejudice and betrayal. Through flash floods, jailbreaks and broken dreams, A Desert in Bloom comes alive in an epic journey of redemption.

About the Author

William Landvoigt Bayne grew up in the South, lives in the West, and was educated on the roads somewhere in between. As a young man, he drew comic books, hitchhiked across America, and ran away to join the circus. That didn’t work out long term, so he moved on to advertising and television, using the same skills he picked up shoveling manure with the Ringling Brothers. He has a lot of shiny statues from those filmmaking days. Writing novels is a lot more fun than shoveling manure (both kinds), so that’s what he does now.

Bayne’s unique voice springs from his long experience as an artist, director and storyteller. His flagship company, Coyote Films, was founded in 1996 to promote the diverse talents of young filmmakers. His many documentary and commercial honors include: The New York Art Directors Club Award, the 2001 and 2003 Time-Life Freddie Award, and the 2009 BLUE Ocean Film Festival Award, along with recognition at both the Houston and San Francisco International Film Festivals, along with numerous Tellys, Addys and Pollie awards.

You can find a small selection of those films HERE.
